I had an offer by my S.O's parents to come to St. Maarten with them for their summer family trip. I am really excited. I have never had the opportunity to really bond with them and get to know them that well, as much as i have wanted to. I think this will be the perfect opportunity.
Want to know where we will be staying? I am sure you do. I was curious myself!!! We are staying at Villa Suzanne. If you have ever been to a place like this, I truly envy you until now. I really am excited about this trip!!!
We leave two weeks after his sister's formal wedding; the wedding is 06-07-08. We will be gone from the 21st of June all the way until the 28th! I am so excited. I have not been out of the states in 8 years. Long time, eh? I cannot wait.
I wanted to share with all my vox family what this beautiful villa looks like.
So all the plans have been finalized. I am packed ( a few days early) and I am ready to go. We had to move the trip up a day early because of the way the flights worked out. I am not complaining! So, we are leaving on Wednesday morning. That means, i only work Monday!!! (Tuesday is a company-wide holiday...probably because too many people come in the that day hungover and tired.. haha).
Anyway, I have been playing songs about beaches, vacations and the such since i found out on friday the changes in the date. So, I have to post this song that is STUCK in my head! haha
I am staying a block from the beach and soo close (walking distance) to the night scene. I am so excited. I have so many awesome outfits packed for this awesome trip!! I will share, promise!!!
I messaged my brother on Friday to let him know the plans, since he lives in Miami, and we are going to try to meet up while i am down there. I have not seen my brother since i was in the 3rd grade. He lives with his dad (same mom) and I really miss him!
HA HA! And, i am his sister!
Anyway, Happy Sunday!
What's the best gift you received this year?
It would have to be the promise ring that Chris gave me on Christmas. 7 Diamonds. 14K White Gold. I love it! It is not how much it cost. It has nothing to do with the value or the worth in money. It is simply because of the meaning behind the gift. And, that is what made it such a great gift. His promise to me and my promise to him!
Because his sister had to leave early, Chris' family had christmas celebrations on the 24th. It was really nice. I went over and we had a nice dinner. They served pork tenderloin and various other goodies. We enjoyed ourselves. Gift opening was fun. Tina, their dog, went nuts when she saw all the great new toys she was getting. I think she likes this holiday! ha ha.
Chris' mom finally told him about the trip. He did not quite understand the gift at first. It was quite funny. He opened the shirt box and saw a pair of glasses. He is wearing them in the photo. Then his mom explains to him that there is more in the box. He unwraps the paper and sees that for Christmas, his parents will be flying us to Sunny South Florida for a few days. He was thrilled. He could not stop thanking them. (Neither could I really, but i did mine over many e-mails). He was soo happy. And, his mom could tell. (She is in the picture too). It was wonderful. They gave me two sets of sheets to go on my new bed ( i didn't have any except for the ones my aunt purchased for me a few weeks back). They also gave me items for my desk and room. And, a new iPod Shuffle. (it has been acting up but its still awesome). I gave his parents their coat of arms (his dad loved that the best), his sister and her fiance Eric got a date night box with movie popcorn, popcorn box, movie boxed candy and a gift certificate to Blockbuster to choose their own movies to watch. I figured they needed one anyway. I gave chris some Nautica clothes and manly manicure kit. He loves that stuff.
Went home and did my Christmas stuff with the family. I got a jewelry box, chocolate coat (that i was there for when it was purchased) and a reed incense thingie my cousin purchased for me that smells like jasmine. My aunt said my bedding was part of my christmas. She always does that....says it towards my birthday or christmas and then wants it back. She tends to ruin holidays for me. Especially when she doesn't tell me. If i don't buy it for myself (and she has to pay for it), i either have to reimburse her or it goes toward my christmas/birthday. Its bogus. But if i do for her, she doesn't offer to repay me! She steals from me. If i could move, hell, i would! But i cant by myself. Not until June.
Anyway, after all the 'fun' festivities, i got chris to come and get me and we went back to his house. We lounged around until about 6 or so and had dinner at Kabutos (this Japanese steak house we love so much). We had a good time but i had to get home at a decent hour since i had to work on the 26th. But, my christmas was wonderful.
I WOULD have posted more photos, but chris' family has not e-mailed me any yet. But, as soon as i get them, they will be posted.
Who do you want to be caught under the mistletoe with this holiday season?

Well, The tickets were for December 15th (yes, a bit late to post this but i really have been too busy to!). Well, since my best friend, Crystal, had just gotten back into town from school on break, i had to get her help picking out a great LBD (little black dress). I already had one that i purchased for when Chris and I went to The Tobacco Company, so i had to get another one! Well, Crystal and I searched all over the mall and we couldn't find one that was decent enough (and not slutty) that i could wear to something so nice. BUT...then we came across this place called CACHE and couldn't believe the luck! I had found one!! Soooo, i purchased it! It was a bit pricey, but sooo worth it. And, it felt sooo great on.
After chris and i got back to his house ( it was really too late to get me home, so i stayed- i already packed an overnight bag), Chris' dad took pictures of us in front of their christmas tree. They turned out pretty well...
But the pictures that Chris and I took with my camera after were much better. By the way, we did not take pictures at the Theater because 1- Chris' camera was on low batteries and he didn't change them out or bring spares. 2- I didn't bring my camera in because i thought his would be fine enough. And, 3- the program said that it was prohibited to take photos of the actors (and they announced it out loud).
Anyway, after Chris' parents went to bed, we stayed up and took a few photos before heading to bed.
It was really nice. After dinner, everyone went into the living room and watched television. Since the football game was going off, we found a few movies to flip to. Everyone was either watching television, eating pie (i nibbled on key lime pie) or making coffee/hot cocoa. it turned out a lovely day.
The oddest thing was that although it was late November, the temperatures were really great. It was upper 60's. Too perfect for words, really.
After everyone went to bed, except chris' sister Allie and her fiancee Eric went to a late movie, chris and i decided to stay up a bit later and watch some tv alone. it was the first time we were able to be alone for awhile. it was nice. we enjoyed each other's company. We relaxed, and played with his crazy dog Tina until bed. Some times it is easy to neglect each other when everything around you is so busy and crazy. It was good to just get a break together. You know?
Besides, we were stuffed. What were we gonna do? Roll around to find something to do. Nope!
This is our 2nd- 1st Anniversary. I will be honest. It has not always been a smooth ride. We have had our share of bumps in the road. But, those bumps are what takes us from one happy snapshot to the next. Those rough spots makes us appreciate the good times.
Chris is one in a million. I cannot thank God enough sometimes for bringing him into my life. He is my rock. He is my best friend. I believe that he would not be in my life if he were not meant to take a large part in it. He has a heart of gold. He is so kind and caring. When he gives, he gives it all. His mom often tells me that during the time we were broken up that she had such a hard time getting him to smile in photos. She told me that on one of their trips to Italy (they take one major family trip every summer- usually two weeks) and she had the hardest time getting him to smile for camera. He simply was not happy, she said. She tells me now that she sees him with me, all he does is smile. And, that makes me so happy to hear that. I have never seen eye-to-eye with her 100%, but i can tell that there is a ton of greatness in him from her (as well as his father). She is such a great part of his life. I can only imagine being that large of a part one day.
Well, Chris stopped by my work on Friday (since he was waaayy too busy to on Thursday) and dropped off 3 beautiful bouquets of flowers. They are soo pretty. The ladies i work with, all married and 90% with kids, thought that i was lucky to have a man that brought me such beautiful flowers at work. It was nice since i wasn't expecting three bouquets; just one. I knew he was going to bring me flowers, i just didn't realize that i would get so many! I did not mind though! ^_^ They are lovely. I took them home and put them in vases for my bedroom. I love them. They are blooming; quite happy flowers. I feel lucky to have such a wonderful man that cares so much about me. ^_^
